The details matter- St. Louis Mo photographer

5 Fact Friday (a day late)

1. The weather is really upsetting! I have had to cancel 2 shoots and I really have no room in my schedule to reschedule.....stress! Darn mother nature! I will work it out one way or another I suppose.

2. I am meeting up with some fellow photographers tomorrow at Blueberry Hill and I am SOOOOOOO EXCITED -just plain giddy about it! They are all mama's around my age to, woot! I am also photo shooting my neighbors at one of my favorite places that I just don't get to enough! So Sunday will be a fun filled day of business and pleasure for me and I love it.

3. I am so impressed with what Blaine has learned at school this year already. He walks around the house singing songs, practicing his math and spelling. I love that he loves to go. Leelyn's second day at MDO wasn't as terrific as his first. He cried. Picked him up and he was still crying. Broke my heart!

4. I have finally organized my garage. I can actually park my car in it. My props are up off the floor hanging nice and neat. I plan on using my garage during the freezing winter months as a studio of sorts. This was a huge accomplishment for me- trust me LOL

5. I took the plunge and donated all of my baby stuff. Car seats, strollers, high chair, glider, bassinet, clothes- etc. It is final, no more kids for me. After my last gyno appointment, it just isn't going to happen even if I wanted it to. My life could be at stake as well as the baby's. I will probably schedule my surgery the first part of next year.I am sad but I am tired of dealing with pain also. I have two gorgeous boys and I am so thankful for them. Besides, there is always adoption if I really want that girl.

A special note from my clients and strangers- St. Louis Mo photographer

These notes mean SO much to me, more then you know. Thank you everyone!

"Nicole was great and the pictures were beautiful. We had our little baby girl's announcements taken by Nicole, and she did a excellent job. She also worked with our son, who is shy, and with most photographers he wouldn't open up. Nicole was terrific with him and put him at ease. She takes her time and really works to get the very best pose. She also doesn't mind getting down and dirty to get to their level. Our experience with her has been wonderful and we highly recommend her. We always get compliments on the photos she has taken".

The Viau Family

"I have had four AMAZING photo sessions with Nicole at Spirit's Breeze Photography! I love taking pictures of my children! Who doesn't? No matter how many pictures I take, I will never be able to capture them in the amazing way that Nicole has done. Obtaining a great picture of little children is often frustrating and in the end can have disappointing results. Our experiences with Nicole have been wonderful and effortless. She is always 100% prepared. One time she even had several different stations set up when we got there and all I had to do was sit back and watch while she captured my 12 month old at each and every one, effortlessly! My children have a great time with her and I love the fact that a lot of the time, they were unaware that their picture was being taken. As a result, I have amazing pictures of my son and daughter that capture their true personality. The pictures are precious and timeless and we will enjoy them for many years

"Nicole Gourley has been photographing my daughters for the past five years. Back when my girls were seven and nine she came to our house and made them feel completely at ease during our first session. Every year, they look forward to her photography sessions. She has such a wonderful way of making them relax and feel comfortable. Because of that, she is able to capture the best natural moments in her photography. She is truly a gifted photographer and I cherish all of the memories that she has created and will continue to create for our family".

Mary Jo Biggs

"Hi. Ironically, my hairstylists name is Nicole Gourlay and when I googled her name today I stumbled across your photography site. I am a huge lover of photography and enjoy taking pictures on the side strictly for fun. I must say that your work is amazing. What a lovely start to my weekend, seeing some of your pictures giving me inspiration to do a shoot with my two kids this weekend in the backyard. Have a great day. Wish I were closer and we\'d schedule a session with you"!!

Vickie in Orlando, FL

"Everyone I share them with says great things about them...mostly that they look like they came straight from a magazine"!

Courtney Solstad

"I came across your site today looking for a photographer in our area. I was completely taken back by what I saw. I never knew this kind of photography exsisted. Your work is beautiful to say the least. I would love to book a session with you. I can't tell you how excited I am to hopefully have you photography my family"!

Jane Miller

"I saw your beautiful work on my friends facebook. I want to definitely book you for our Christmas photos and we also need a large family photo to hang above our fire place. Do you have any openings in the fall?

Tamara Stellar

"Nicole, I just want to tell you that I loved every single photo you took of our family. Deciding was more difficult then I ever imagined it would be. You have a way to make your clients feel comfortable and it shows in the photos you took of us. I still tear up when I look and the moments you got for us. I will never forget our experience with you and I plan on using your services this point forward. Again thank you so much."

Five Facts on Friday

1. Leelyn had a wonderful first day of MDO and so did I! I forgot how much one can do without kids and how fast you can do it! Amazing I tell you! They said he didn't cry, actually took a nap, ate all of his lunch and is quite the explorer. No surprise there! (photos to come)

2. I have spent way to much on Blaines birthday this year. I think I feel guilty as he kind of gets shorted now with baby bro. I am even taking him to Papaw and Grammy's to celebrate it with one of his favorite cousins JJ per his request. He loves that boy so much. Those two are true gamers.

3. I am dressing up this year for Halloween. Big City Kitty. I know, I was going to be Smurfette but I opted out of that because I really don't want to paint myself blue. My BFF Craig is flying in, woot!

4. This last 20 pounds is about to drive me insane! Will I ever get there? I don't know but this is the strongest I have felt in a while, so thank you Jansen! (my trainer)

5. My photography business has been steady. I am so appreciative to all of my friends and clients for their patronage. God has given me a wonderful talent that brings joy to so many and that makes me feel awesome! I plan on slowing things down after the holiday. My focus needs to be with my boys, and thanks to God for reminding me that I am a SAHM first. Simplify. ;-) xoxo

Secret/confession

I am BAD, so so so so BAD.

While at the gym tonight I witnessed something that scares me to death! The big fall, off the treadmill. OMG- this guy totally busted his butt THEN tried to get back on it from the end of the belt and totally flew off into the treadmill behind him where that person jumped out of the way!

Okay now, here is the I am BAD part.....I chuckled (turned my head away of course) then I started to actually LOL all while telling myself NOT to LOL. I had to pause my machine and run to the bathroom because I couldn't control my laughter! The guy was okay and LOL as did his friends, but I am a horrible person for that!

I sure hope I am forgiven!

I was going to input a video of a similar accident, but that is just wrong I tell you!

Not an ordinary day

Today was Blainers first day of Pre-K. Such an exciting day for us all. He is attending a baptist school and we love it! I grew up southern baptist, and even though I no longer follow the baptist religion, I still hold strong to some of the foundations and want Blaine/Leelyn to also.
Blaine was so excited (probably to get away from me, ha ha) He only has 6 kids in his class, two teachers. They start off by writting their names every morning and then they have prayer/bible story/praise the lord time. Then it is off to the standard patterning, letter/sound, numbers, science, weather/graphing etc.
Leelyn and I laid on the couch all morning- I of course loved it because he fell asleep in my arms only to realize he has a fever of 102. I think he is teething. I hope becuase he will attend MDO Friday and I have plans for my 'alone' time! Enjoy the pics!

Save the nail shop drama for yo mama!

I hit the gym yesterday and then decided to stop at my local fab nail shop for a pedi. About 15 minutes in to my super relaxtion meditation like state a lady sat in the chair next to me. I still have slobber coming out of the corner of my mouth (let me tell you, they really rub your feet down at my salon) all was fine, nice and quiet. I swear I must have dozed off because I was awakened by hammer toe Betty screaming at the top of her lungs and I quote "LOOK WHAT YOU DID, OMG, LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY TOES" okay let me refrain here.......lol
"I TOLD YOU I HAD A HANG NAIL" from the looks of her feet she had more issues then that to worry about, sheesh! "I DON'T WANT NOTHING, NOTHING FROM YOU, YOU MADE ME BLEED, HOW WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO MAKE YOU BLEED"
Okay there were a few drops of blood on her towel, and I am guessing that the tech pulled the hang nail out, right? IDK but I was pretty upset that her SCREAMING interupted my drool time! She grabbed her shoes, and wobbled out, then came back in yappin' about how she was going to tell all of her friends how horrible they are, blah blah blah.
IDK- I don't think I have ever acted like that in public and I have been pretty steamed a time or two. Man some people have serious issues other then hammer toed hang nails!
Signed: From the mom who's spa pedi drooling coma like state zone you ruined! (angry face here)

FREAKIN' AWESOME BUY-COTT! TEA PARTY ACT

http://stlouisteaparty.com/

Last week Brentwood delt with union BOYCOTT because of what Mr. Mackey stated in the Wall St Journal....and recently on 20/20-----FREEDOM OF SPEECH
Up front and VERY PERSONAL! I am a REPUBLICAN! PROUD OF IT and I DO NOT SUPPORT MANY THINGS OBAMA! BUY-COTT BABY! Get with the program and WAKE UP PEOPLE!

THIS WEEK Town and Country WFM delt with BUY-COTT from the STL Tea Party. WOOT.

TOWN AND COUNTRY, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - You've heard of a boycott but how about a "buy"-cott? That's what hundreds are expected to do Tuesday night at Whole Foods in Town and Country. Members of the St. Louis Tea Party plan to buy a week's worth of food to support the grocery store chain. The buy-cott comes after health care reform supporters decided to boycott the chain because Whole Foods CEO John Mackeyis against President Obama's health care plan.
