5 fact Friday/secret and confession time

1. I leave in 5 days to Tx. Pray for safe flights....supposed to snow on the day we leave. Thanks.

2. I booked 4 shoots, I went back and forth as I was looking forward to my time off from 'work' but I am a giver and I admit -I can't wait to do the shoots for my friends.

3. I am officially all caught up for the '09 holiday season. Just waiting on one final order, well that is until I get back into town and then I have 4 sessions to edit. But I plan on taking Jan. off....no shoots. I need to regroup and work on some business stuff....details details details!

4. I put a little black dress I bought 4 years ago on yesterday and it fit! SO EXCITING! I am totally wearing it to the Weeds Silver and Ice 2010 NYE party!

5. I can't stop eating chocolate this week.....hmmmm

Secret/confession
It is the 19th and I have not purchased one Christmas gift! NOT ONE PEOPLE! Talk about procrastinating!

Prayers for Tyler and his family

You might remember me posting about 9 year old Tyler, my stepmoms nephew. He complained of a headache and it turned out to be a cancerous tumor on his brain steam.

He will not make it to Christmas, the family will be celebrating Christmas tomorrow. Please pray for him and his family.

I am struggling with the words right now, I find purpose hard with illness like this in a young tender little boy. It breaks my heart.

Please pray- think warm thoughts in this time.

My cup runneth over lastnight at his program! He was the most adorable wiseman EVER! He is getting so big! Sassiness and all! The program was a success, even little Leelyn was a trooper. Happy Birthday Jesus, I am so happy it's Christmas!

5 fact friday- secret confession

late, surprised?

1. I have continued with my 365 project.....ugh I am on like 247 self portraits. This project has taken the back seat many times, but I must complete it!

2. My car needs two front tires.....which will cost $700.00 for TWO! I am so bummed- but thankful they are run flats.

3. I totally slacked on my own cards this year. I have just been to busy worrying about my clients. So if you don't get one in the mail, SORRY!

4. Leelyn is putting words together....'more juice' 'i love you'- so cute!

5. Blaine on the other hand has really been testing me! Not sure if it is school or what but his behavior has been sassy, more then usual. I sent him to bed at 7pm the other night. UGH GRRRRRRRR!!!

Well I stopped taking my BC and I have lost 5 additional pounds, ha who would have guessed!?

The mistake of letting kids know of things in advance....

I am starting to rethink letting Blaine know of trips and such until the day of! Why you ask? Because it is all he talks about 24/7, omgoodness!
His friend Kai is having a party tomorrow, we received the invite about a week or so ago, I let him open the envelope up......

Late/early whatever! lol

1. Booked a trip to Houston, Tx for Christmas and the New Year.....YAY Oh the excitement is almost unreal.

2. I have decided (I think) to run a half marathon with a good friend Karissa in April. GASP It's been a dream of mine for many years and I think I am ready to take it on.

3. I decided to only put lights and the tree topper on our tree this year. I can't handle Leelyn and the glass bulbs, who needs that stress?

4. I am trying to be more detailed oriented, so if any of my readers have suggestions, lmk!

5. Have I told y'all I love you? I do.

I am who I am

A grown up cocktail beverage down.........

I am fast approaching the anniversary of my mothers death. December 04, 1992 at 11:43 pm. I was 17, barely.
As I reflect on her life, my life and my family life I am filled with every emotion. My family was strong. I was raised with morales, values and God. I have not always followed His path, but I always go to Him.

I am not perfect, for no human is. I have hurt as I have been hurt.
I was 17, caring for my dying mother. Perhaps sharing what I have kept inside will help heal me or help you. Cancer is a horrible evil death. From the moment she had a fever until the huge lumps protruding from her belly and side. From her not being able to make it to the restroom and me grabbing the closest thing for her to go in.......

From her weighing 160 to 98 pounds. Her looking up and telling me she loved me. After the surgery to remove her right lung, as she lay in her bed, I laid with her....she grabbed my hand and every thought, word and feeling was in that touch. One month later she passed.

It is really sad because at 17 years old with a pretty picture perfect life up until that point one never thinks this horrible thing would happen.

My mother gave me life, she gave me love, comfort, wisdom, morales, values that I will now pass to my kids.
I  will always share my mother, their mamaw with them. It is my duty to make sure she lives on.

With this said..... Life is short. My mom was 39 when she passed. Hug and love your family and friends.
This is my thankful blog.....thankful that God ave me the mother he did.

Five fact Friday

1. Got my lens, love it! I can't wait to use it for two shoots this weekend. It will come in handy for those tight spaces for sure.

2. Guests arriving next Sat. then we are headed to Illinois

3. Leelyn has been very challenging! VERY. We will definitely experience the terrible two's with this one.

4. I have 5 loads of laundry, three bathrooms and four bedrooms that need a good detailed cleaning----anyone? anyone?
