Life on the road

(Wesley) (my sister)(Blaine, Wes and Bre-Bre)(dad playing Wii) (beach shots)

(uncle Jacks) (Ohio)(57 yr old dad vs. 16 yr old nephew)

Life on the road was a BEAUTIFUL experience. Gas: $285.00, Miles spent in car: 1,453, Food: $450.00, Hotel: $700.00, spending time with family and friends: worth every single penny! I am happy to report a wonderful experience we shared as a family, in the car! We had not one meltdown, not one whining session, and not one moaning or griping! It was a miracle at it's finest! I didn't have to take any xanax either, ha!
The beach was beautiful, everything and more we expected. Blue water as far as the eye could see, soft deep sand, huge sand dunes and PERFECT 84 degree weather the entire time. The hotel was nice with the exception of our room being right next to the vending, pool and ice machine and the bathroom door which hit the toilet seat causing it to not open all the way, other then that it was beautiful which was surprising for a Radisson. The indoor pool was a huge hit, and by the end of our 2008 journey Blaine was using no swimming devices what-so-ever.
We ended up extending our vacation so we could stop in @ Uncle Jacks in Illinois who has a very lovely 20 plus acres with all the bells and whistles: 4 wheelers, pool, pond, chickens, horses, roosters, goats, a rhino (huge 4 wheeler for the big kids) among other amenities. It was a great time and we were happy that we decided to stop in and stay the night. Thank you to all of our family for the warm hospitality. We cherished every single moment. It was so nice to have the kids out and about, Blaine running around free to do what he pleased, and a extra hand or two with Leelyn was especially nice. It was so nice and needed to be with my sister and dad who I miss so much. Grammy who we all love to death and she loves babies so that worked out just fine. ;) I enjoyed our evening glass of wine and I will miss it Grammy! I am not big on travel by car, but this vacation road trip was a BLAST!
God - We are greatful and thankful you kept us safe and for the time you allowed us to spend with our family and friends. You are a good God, a great God.

That is so awesome about your camera. I am excited for you. I look forward to seeing many great shots. I am going to be teaching a children's photography camp in Sept. I already have 24 kids signed up, you should think about doing something like that. Your pictures from your vacation looked like you guys had a great time. I LOVE the b/w picture of you and your babies on the dune. Congrats again on the camera, that is really awesome, thanks for sharing with me!!
